All I can say is that words cannot describe how delighted I am to be able to give away one of my absolute favourite kitchen gadgets to one of you!
I actually love my Instant Pot so much, I bought one for my parents too!
Firstly, I just want to say a big thank you to all of you who have followed my blog over the last couple of years, and enjoyed cooking my recipes (and told me so!) - I've just exceeded half a million views on my blog, which is amazing - so what better time to be able to give something fabulous back to you (other than my tasty recipes, of course)!
Normandy Pork in Cider |
Before the Instant Pot came along, I always used to be afraid to use a pressure cooker, although we did have a stove top one, which the good man used (while I absented myself from the kitchen!) to make some delicious stocks in the past. I don't know why I was afraid of using them, as my parents and grandparents used them as a matter of course without any incidents that I know of, but I always imagined them exploding, 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' style!
Chinese Red-braised Beef Ribs |
Loving cooking as I do, when I saw that Michel Roux Junior and Monica Galetti were fans of it a year or so ago, and that it was an automatic pressure cooker (and more!) with no less than TEN proven safety mechanisms, it was just too much to resist after so many years of being afraid to use a pressure cooker (but wanting to)!
Steak and Ale Pies |
As for the 'and more' part - as well as being a pressure cooker (with two pressure settings), the multi-functional 7-in-1 Instant Pot is also a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a pressure and non-pressure steamer, a yoghurt maker, food warmer, even makes porridge, and you can saute directly in the pot (and also simmer, which is perfect for reducing sauces) with low, high and medium settings for the saute and slow cooker settings, amongst others.
Thai Sweet and Sour BBQd Ribs |
It is so nice to be able to get dinner cooking at the press of a button, and walk away without worrying about it - it sounds an alarm to signal when it has finished cooking, and if you're pressure cooking, then you can either release the pressure by opening the vent, or allow it to release naturally (which takes around 15 minutes) - or it will safely keep the food warm for up to ten hours afterwards, if, say, you've made a delicious curry or something and gone out for a few hours in the meantime!! Like I've heard some people do! And there's a timer for the other end as well, with a delay up to 24 hours before cooking time commences (in case you want to set your porridge to cook for breakfast, or dinner for when you get home from work).
Beef in Black Bean Sauce with Peppers |
If you want to have a look at the official Instant Pot website, you can find out more here including FAQs, recipes and much more.
You'll find some links to my Instant Pot recipes at the bottom of this blog (and photos dotted around!). This is the tip of the iceberg, mind you, as there are so many different things you can cook in there - I was amazed at the delicious lemon cheesecake I cooked in it, for example!
Now to the important part... how to enter and the 'rules'!
1. Firstly, you need to 'like' my Forking Foodie Facebook page (if you don't already), which you will find here, and keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the winner on Easter Sunday, at 3pm GMT.
2. Secondly, you need to leave me one comment below this blog by midnight (GMT) at the end of Saturday 26th March, telling me why you would like to win an Instant Pot, and what kind of things you would like to cook in it the most, with your name and the mainland UK county that you live in, e.g. Jane Smith, Derbyshire. (You can select 'Name/URL' or 'Anonymous' if you prefer, from the drop-down options - just make sure you write them at the end of your comment). Don't worry if your comment doesn't appear instantly, as they are moderated - it will do within 24 hours (I will ensure all valid comments are posted by the closing date and time).
The winner will be chosen at random, one entry per household, mainland UK residents only. The winner will be announced on my blog at 3pm on Sunday 27th March (GMT) and will need to message me on my Forking Foodie Facebook page within 7 day of the announcement with their UK address details (the prize can only be posted within the mainland UK), and the prize will be sent to them directly by Instant Pot UK. In the event of no-one claiming the prize within seven days, another winner will be chosen at random from the comments.
Good luck to everyone taking part!

I would really love one of these as they are so versatile and I could get rid of some of my other appliances e.g. rice cooker, slow cooker, yogurt maker. Since you seem able to cook anything in this, that is what I would like to cook - anything and everything - with of course, some help from the recipes on forking foodie
ReplyDeleteThe braised ox cheeks sound delicious but with a veggie boyfriend I would have to experiment with some quorn products...quorn sausage casserole or Quorn chicken curry maybe...or quorn beef czech goulash... fingers crossed. Abi Fullerton, Tyne and Wear
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an amazing piece of equipment and I love cooking curries and chillies this sounds like it would be better than my slow cooker.Kath Lancashire
ReplyDeleteI would love one of these to cook soups with home made stock, there's lots of other things I would try but especially love the sound of Normandy pork, thanks, Andrea Horsley, West Yorkshire
ReplyDeleteThis looks great and just the job for a busy working .mum, we would love to experiment with our meals and try lots of new ideas
ReplyDeleteSarah, Melton Mowbray
Congratulations, Sarah, as the 5th comment, you're the winner!!!
DeleteI would love an InstantPot to give to my my mum who always says it's not worth putting the oven on for one person. With an Instant
ReplyDeletePot she could cook herself nutritious meals without any hassle or using loads of electricity.
I would love one of these! My pressure cooker broke a couple of years ago and I never got around to replacing it, as I thought it took up too much space. But the InstantPot would totally justify the counter space, with all its functions :). I would love to make bone broth in it, and also your fabulous murgh saagwala which is my go to chicken curry recipe. So handy with the timer functions! Camilla Thoresen, Fife
ReplyDeleteWe've been looking into getting a slow cooker to help with meal prepping for the week and making the best and tastiest pulled meat we can. It looks like this is the daddy that can not only do that for us but pressure cook the meat as well making it a better option! Would be great to help save monies on meals!! Ideal!
ReplyDeleteThis looks perfect for our family as its so busy and this looks superb! So versatile! I would immediately try out the Normany pork! YUM! Lucinda Barton, West Sussex
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this it's a fab piece of kit
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great gadget, and would be ideal for my (veggie) student daughter. She already uses my pressure cooker when at home, and it's brilliant for pulses and stuff like chick peas that take forever in a normal pan. Keep up the good work, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteWould love go have one for my mum. I have one and I love it. It makes the best stews.
ReplyDeleteI would love an Instant Pot as it would replace many items in my cupboards and make cooking instantly easier and all in one pot!
ReplyDeleteMark Gleaves
East Yorkshire
I would love an instand pot because i need to cook cheaper cuts of meat being on a limited budget and living in a remote area, which limits access to many shops . laura shetland
ReplyDeleteI would really love one of these. With 3 small children I'm constantly finding things that will save me time and effort but without compromising on flavour or nutrition. A tricky balancing act, but one the instant pot can surely handle. I would definitely cook up a load of Ragu alla Bolognese for the freezer, soups for quick and easy lunches, and we love Thai food so the sweet and sour ribs sound amazing. Sarah Wills, Northamptonshire
ReplyDeleteI would love one as my kitchen is tiny, I cook a lot for parties and with my son's 21st fast approaching I need all the additional help I can get, I think the best feature is the keep warm feature, which of course is perfect when you are coooking for a crowd and they all want seconds !!! Ellie, Bedford
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for the opportunity to win the Instant Pot! It has many functions which we use everyday. My family is on Paleo diet as a part of my sons treatment. It means that everything we eat is made from scratch with fresh organic ingredients. It would make a huge difference in our daily meals and shorten the time of cooking. Instant Pot is also lead free and it has a yoghurt making function:-). I would definitely do paleo version of polish traditional dish - golobki. Golobki is basically cabbage rolles, stuffed with mince meat and herbs in tomato sauce. It's absolutely delicious. I would also want to try homemade lamb curry. Aleksandra Werner, Barnsley
ReplyDeleteI would love to give one of these to my mum and dad as a present. They love mine and would really love one of there own. They would more than likely make stews/casseroles and proof bread in it. Sarah Morris, Cheshire
ReplyDeleteWould love one of these to give to my poorly sick 'bestie'.
ReplyDeleteI got rid of a lot of gadgets when I got a Thermomix and now I'd like to get rid of the stove top pressure cooker, the slow cooker and the yoghurt maker... I would SO love an instant pot! I'd make more dishes containing pulses for a start, and more things that I could then freeze in portions for busy days. Vivienne, Midlothian
ReplyDeleteWould love to use this in the summer to provide delicious meals for our sculpture students! Anna Cooley, Powys Wales
ReplyDeleteOmg! I have been wanting this for such a long time. I use the traditional pressure cooker a lot for cooking our meals. It does the job but this is so much better as we don't have to watch over the cooking with the timer doing the needful. It also replaces so many other kitchen gadgets.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 jobs and 3 kids and this pot would be a week day lifesaver for me. You'd save me from the occasional ready meal which I hate to buy because I actually love to cook!
ReplyDeleteKate, Devon
I would love an Instant Pot so that I can make more things from scratch. Especially pasta dishes and ... cheesecake and yoghurt :)
ReplyDeleteHi, all my life I've been in "contact" with a pressure cooker, my Mom used to cook in it a lot, and I remember it was so noisy and I was always very afraid of it when I was a child as I thought that at any time it would go off. However, as I'm now a grown woman and using one myself I've learned how to use it. But obviously I am sometimes quite scared still. The food coming from it is always quick and amazing that I've overcame the fear. I cook pretty much everything you could think of stews, Spanish lentils soup, pulled pork, a whole chicken that later will become a chicken pie....every time I see the advert for this Instant Pot I get tempted to have one. I want one desperately. I need one. :) I hope I win. Its my birthday soon so this could be a perfect birthday present. Thank you.
ReplyDelete(Patricia Barrios, Surrey)
DeleteI would love to win this Instant pot, it sounds Amazing .Id try out lots of new recipes
ReplyDeleteFiona Purdon ,Fortwilliam :)
I would love to win this as Instant Pot has made my life so much 'easier' especially the 'keep warm' function! I am entering for my in-laws so I can set timer and their dinner will be ready without much of their effort (except plating it up!). I would made a good hearty beef stew at my first run on the brand new ipot!
ReplyDeleteI'm so intrigued by this appliance. I would love to try all your fab recipes and more. It would save so much time too. I love my thermomix but have always been scared of pressure cookers but this sounds amazing.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, what a great give-away! I would love an Instant Pot because we're a very busy and large family and are about to lose the use of our kitchen for a while due to getting an extension. An Instant Pot would help make this whole period so much less stressful! I would mainly cook soups, sauces (e.g.lentil Bolognese) and curries in large amounts to freeze and make yoghurt in it but I'm sure once I got one I'd discover all sorts of uses I never thought about. Sonja Ranson, Midlothian
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous give-away!! I bought an instant pot before xmas, and could do with one more :-) I use it every day, sometimes more than once. Beans, pasta, eggs, potatoes, stews, curries, even cakes. Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteJulie Haveland Beer, Devon
Let's try that again following the rules. I have an instant pot but would like one for my daughter who works long hours and shifts. I'm sure the ipot would make like easier for her. Marie Tait Cheshire.
ReplyDeleteIpot, oh Ipot - is there anything you can't do?
ReplyDeleteFrom soups, curry, puddings and stew,
As a busy firefighter and mum of two,
Oh how great it would be to win you!
I've admired the functions and versatility of the ipot from afar for many months. As in most households, time is always of the essence so the ipot would be perfect for getting nutritional meals ready for 2 young children in a timely manner. I would like to try out curry, beef in black bean, yoghurt and porridge to start with! Thanks.
Tammy, North Wales
My son wants one for his birthday next week because he's seen mine but it's too costly for me to buy.
ReplyDeleteThis sound like it would be a big help in my kitchen, given that everything needs to be prepared from scratch to cater for all the food allergies of my daughter! Caroline, Kent
ReplyDeleteThis pot looks excellent, my Mother cooked with a pressure cooker when I was young and it terrified me, but the food that came out was always delicious. My husband loves stew and we have tried to slow cooker it but it's just not the same. I would love to try this instant pot because they've finally made it unscary and I could get my head around it. PS, I love your blog
ReplyDeleteMy last pressure cooker was a wedding present nearly 40 years ago and doesn't belong to this marriage ... I would love to have a chance to fiddle around with Andrea 's recipes adding illegal bits here and there for my lovely ( fairly ) new husband without taking the risk of blowing him ( and the house ) up ..... Jilly Grower, Dorset
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my Instant Pot and if I was being totally selfish I'd say I want to win another so that I can cook my chicken and rice at exactly the same time, or dinner and dessert. It really would make sense to have 2!!
ReplyDeleteBut, I'd like to spread the IP Love and gift it to a lovely friend who would be delighted to try it out. Yes, it's so versatile - I love to cook soups, stews, joints of meat, veg dishes, curries, ribs and it makes delicious yoghurt too! (Your Thai Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs are next on my to do list!)
Thanks for the fabulous giveaway!
Angela Smart, Wirral
Ooh I'd love to do something Moroccan in it, to spice things up. Teresa Lywood, Devon
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I would love to win one of these amazing pots. I have a large family and cook everything from scratch. I have been driving my daughters crazy going on about them so please help put them out of their misery. Margaret Armour, Cumbernauld, Glasgow
